UNEXMIN GeoRobotics

In a ground-breaking mission at Portugal’s Urgeiriça mine, the UX1-Neo robot was put to the trial in three sets of fieldwork to evaluate its capabilities in a genuine deep underground mine environment. The trial was aimed to evaluate all software and hardware components of the device. The robot reached a depth of 185m at the bottom of the Santa Barbara shaft on its third dive. The trial was a success, proving the UX1-Neo’s incredible capabilities and setting the stage for future missions in other underground mines worldwide.
